Erotic Intelligence

I got to watch some interesting videos today

This one on is about looking at desire from a place of selfishness rather than selfless love for the partner in a long term relationship.

I love how she explains that we need to cross over to the other side and watch this person in his/her fully glory and radiance rather than think of them as an extension of your own. If this is a sort of erotic intelligence, we can all learn it too.

Back after a hiatus to post what has enchanted me enough to store it as a memory here.

Just finished watching an incredible movie – Ship of Theseus

Esp loved this chant

Regressive Indian Laws !!

“It (Indian Supreme Court) just told the world, the United Nations and the western media that while predators, rapists and the corrupt roam our streets freely, law enforcers with handcuffs dangling from their waists in the largest democracy will be on the lookout for adults who wish to have consensual “unnatural sex”. It just reminded the world that India is an intolerant and regressive state where liberal opinions are not welcome and modernity is a facade.”

For now, wisdom seems to come only out of the mouth of babes

Dont just respond, connect

I’m always used to silver lining theproblems of other people and mine too.

Sometimes things are as bad as they seem. And a sympthathetic response doesnt help. Instead we need to feel the pain along with the loved one, give them a bear hug and thank them for letting you know. Thats all.

Someone on FB responded with another video emphasizing this again

Intersect Passion and talent

I think many parents would be familiar with this scenario where kids are just not interested in pursuing something they are good at. Any amount of advice on working on their strengths has no effect and eventually parents accept that it is time to move on and hope that the child’s interest will revive in future years. The desire to learn comes from within—a toddler will take any number of falls and yet pick himself up and try to walk till he masters it. Studies indicate that determined pursuit of a passion is linked to personal happiness—an individual will consistently persevere with an activity only if it gives him happiness.
We cannot generate passion for any endeavor in our children; having said that, there are some things that we can do to build passion once we identify potential areas of interest. Paying attention to the ideas that captivate them will help in identifying their interests. Also, it is important to remain attentive as their interests will change/evolve as they grow older.
